Savasana- Dead Body Pose
This is the thirteenth posture is the Bikram Yoga series of 26 postures. Lie flat on your back with your feet facing the back of the room. Arms at your side with your palms facing upward. Feet relaxed with your heels together and your toes fall out.
Eyes open and breath normal (in and out your nose). Maintain total stillness--Don't Move-Relax and breath!
Benefits:
This is the most important posture in Hatha yoga. The name means corpse pose due to the complete stillness. It accelerates the compression and release cycle when the internal organs are deprived of oxygen and then flooded with it. The high speed cleansing flushes out toxins, free radicals and other debris. It is how we gain energy through our yoga practice. It teaches you relaxation and stillness.
Try to practice your SAVASANA through this busy Holiday Season!!
