Bikram Yoga Burr Ridge

First Time Students

Welcome! We're glad you've decided to try Bikram Yoga.

It'll be fun - we promise! As a beginner it's normal to feel a little intimidated. But don't worry. With constant practice and some patience you will definitely improve.

The Bikram Yoga class is a 90-minute moving meditation. The teacher will guide you through the postures, and everyone will do them to their own ability. Just remember to focus on yourself during class. Leave your expectations at the door, and feel the change in your body and mind!

Here are a couple of tips that other first-time students have found useful.

Arrive 20 minutes before class. Print and complete this Release Form (which is available in Adobe Acrobat or in Word and bring it with you on your first visit.

BRING: yoga mat, large towel, and water. (All are available for rent or sale at the studio.)

Avoid eating two to three hours before class.

Wear light and comfortable clothing.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day so you are well hydrated before class.

Be positive! It is normal for you to feel nervous or scared the first time. Don't let that stop you from coming.
